Retaking the Test

Candidates who do not achieve the passing score on a test may retake it at any of the subsequent test administrations at which that test is offered. For the Communication and Literacy Skills test or the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test, you may take one or both subtests (reading and/or writing) at a given administration.

Once you meet the passing score on a subtest, you do not have to take that subtest again. If you retest after passing the writing subtest and do not retake the writing subtest, you will automatically receive a refund of $10, which will be processed following the score report date.
