Test Specifications

This examination is based on approximately 300 total questions in a multiple choice format.
 

Generally the questions asked only have four choices although there may be more. The questions is independent from any other question unless specifically stated otherwise. The approximate time of the examination (including rest and lunch breaks) is about three and one half hours (210 minutes).
The examination is divided into separate sections as listed below.

1. Biology - This will test basic principles and concepts of biology with the major emphasis on HUMAN biology (as opposed to plants). There will be about 50 questions

2. Inorganic Chemistry - This section will test basic principles and concepts that are covered in basic college courses. There will be about 30 questions on this section.

3. Organic Chemistry - This section will test basic principles and concepts that are covered in basic college courses. There will be about 30 questions on this section.

4. Reading Comprehension - This section will measure the ability to analyze, understand and interpret reading passages on scientific topics. You will not be expected to be an expert on these topics. All questions on this section can be answered from the reading passage. No outside knowledge is required. There are about 45 questions on this section.

5. Quantitative Ability - This section will measure the arithmetic functions and knowledge including percentages, decimals, fractions and algebra. In addition you will be expected to be able to reason through problems presenting with basic math questions and concepts. Trigonometry and calculus are NOT covered on this examination. There are approximately 50 questions on this section.
